Thanksgiving Baskets 2015
The Brothers of Charles H. Wesley Lodge No. 147 held their Annual Thanksgiving Basket Delivery on Saturday, November 21, 2015, and had another outstanding community engagement event! This year, we supported four (4) families in the Bowie community and one (1) family from the United Communities Against Poverty (UCAP) Program located in Capitol Heights. 7 Brothers participated and the day began with fellowship at the home of Worshipful Master Raymond (Ray) G. Fefee, III and his wife Fredarika. The brothers then assembled the Thanksgiving Baskets and then headed out to make the basket deliveries throughout the community. Each family was really appreciative of the lodge's willingness to assist the community with its outreach efforts. Once we completed the basket deliveries, we returned back to Worshipful Master Fefee's home for food, fellowship, and a little college football. The Brothers were overjoyed participating in the delivery of the baskets, as all of the families would not have a Thanksgiving feast if it was not for the outstanding coordination and support of various community organizations and Charles H. Wesley Lodge No. 147 working in unison to assist families in need this year. It was a true blessing for all!

Christmas Baskets 2015
Charles H. Wesley Lodge No. 147 had another outstanding Christmas Season, as the Lodge had excellent participation from Brothers in performing community outreach throughout Prince George's County (MD)!
The day began with fellowship at the home of Worshipful Master Raymond (Ray) G. Fefee, III. The Brothers then assembled the baskets before heading out to deliver them to the recipients! This Christmas Season, the Lodge was able to support five (5) families in Bowie, as well as, two (2) families in the United Communities Against Poverty (UCAP) program located in Capital Heights, Maryland. Each family was extremely appreciative of the Lodge’s efforts in assisting the community in our outreach efforts. Once all the baskets had been delivered, the Brothers returned to WM Fefee's home for fellowship. The Brothers truly enjoyed participating in the delivery of Holiday Baskets, as each family admittedly would not have had a Christmas feast if not for the efforts, coordination, and support of several community organizations along with Charles H. Wesley Lodge No. 147, collectively working together to assist families in need within Bowie and the surrounding communities.
Additionally, the Lodge also provided assistance to the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Maryland (MWPHGLMD) by participating in the Knights of Pythagoras’ (KOP) Annual Christmas Party which provided toys to over 150 children and families. The Knights of Pythagoras (KOP) is a youth organization sponsored by Prince Hall Masons with the goal of motivating young males between the ages of eight (8) and eighteen (18) to make beneficial use of their time, meet worthwhile companions, and to engage in wholesome educational activities designed to aid and enrich them in their development into young men.
Finally, to cap off our community outreach for the Christmas Season, the Lodge received a special request for assistance from the administration of the City of Bowie (MD) to provide Christmas gifts for a family who had been displaced due to a tragic incident in the area. Once again, the Brothers of Charles H. Wesley Lodge No. 147 answered the call to service by pooling together their resources and eventually adopting the family while also providing food, money, and clothing for the holidays! The Lodge also agreed to become a mentor for the family’s young thirteen (13) year old boy.
Tis the season to give support!
